Implant treatments are possible even in individuals with high bone loss or in people with impaired systemic (general health) status. Now, with the developing technology and methods, there are implant treatments and prosthesis options suitable for individuals. So is implant treatment suitable for everyone?
People who have lost their own teeth due to lack of care … These people need to make some changes in order to continue their lives with teeth again. LIKE STARTING ORAL CARE AGAIN! …
Because implants, just like our teeth, are in an oral environment with many microorganisms. Therefore, oral care is as essential for implants as it is for healthy teeth. In other words, if you are going to have implants, you have to take good care of these teeth.
Now, if we need to give advice to people who are considering having implant treatment in general, the following can be said;
– Keep your systemic condition, that is, your general health under control.
– Regulate your smoking and diet so that your implants are not adversely affected by smoking.
– Be sure to go to your dentist regularly.
– Brand and price research is of course important, but is this treatment suitable for you? This issue is as important as your dentist’s knowledge, skill and the quality of the implant in the success of your treatment.
I do not want implant treatment, if this treatment is not suitable for me, I want to talk about adhesive technologies, another developing aspect of dentistry.
The enamel of the teeth is very strong and this enamel has a suitable structure for adhesion. The tooth enamel (the top layer) holds the material adhered to it with special adhesives. So a tooth can carry the tooth next to it.
In the past, even today, teeth were cut; the teeth on either side of an empty tooth were cut and veneers were made on them. This offered us the most commonly used treatment option for missing teeth. Now, it is possible to replace missing teeth with a system called “MARYLAND” bridge without cutting the teeth at all.
Today, 3D scanners have become devices that make the dentist’s life easier. As a result of scans made with these devices, tooth deficiency has become possible without cutting the teeth next to the tooth. Even in the back molars, if there is decay in the side teeth; the connection of the missing tooth with the side teeth can also be made with fillings. In other words, both the filling need and the missing tooth need of the side teeth are met with “MARYLAND” bridges.
WHAT IS THE IMPLANT ALTERNATIVE FOR PEOPLE WITH MORE THAN ONE TOOTH LOSS?
If the person has 10-14 teeth in his/her mouth; “FULL MOUTH” bridges, which are bridges in which all teeth are crowned, can be made. Especially in people with gingival problems, the extra laser to be applied during tooth cutting is very beneficial for gingival healing. In this treatment, after all the teeth are cut, a temporary tooth is made for the patient to wear for a week. The patient gets the teeth on the same day following the tooth cutting.
First of all, while gingival treatment is performed with laser after tooth cutting, OZONE THERAPY is performed around the teeth to accelerate gingival healing. This helps to remove bad microorganisms from the mouth. In addition, all teeth switch to a new bite with temporary teeth. Thus, the teeth that have received excessive load due to the lack of teeth share the load with the teeth next to them with the insertion of the temporaries. Thus, the swaying of the teeth is also reduced to some extent.
With these temporary teeth, after the one-week waiting period is over, without switching to new prostheses, the same temporaries containing CaOH2 are glued with adhesives that strengthen the tooth structure and kept for 2 months. This period may vary according to the individual; for some people it may take 2 months, while for others it may take 2 weeks. Meanwhile, the inner part of the other teeth is also repaired. In other words, the tooth is repaired both internally and externally and made ready for either zirconium or metal-supported veneers. Teeth are strengthened and refreshed. It is observed that many patients get rid of bad breath during this period. Then, the main prosthetic crowns are made in accordance with the new facial integrity.
In people who have a few teeth in the mouth and have no bone, prostheses that are partly fixed and partly removable, which we call FITTED PROSTHESES, restore chewing functions while relieving our patient aesthetically.
In cases where implant treatment is not desired or not suitable for the person, that is, in applications where implant treatment is out of the question, it is possible to apply modernized forms of treatment methods to our patients. In dentistry, the construction of missing teeth is a science and art dating back to the Egyptians, long before our day. For this reason, the treatment of missing teeth is not neglected.
