Prosthesis
In oral and dental health, each tooth is in dynamic balance with each other. Chewing problems that occur due to tooth loss can cause many temporary/permanent discomforts in our joints by causing unbalanced forces on the jaw joint. In addition, due to inadequate grinding of nutrients, it can cause problems in the digestive system such as the stomach and intestines. As the number of missing teeth increases, the frequency and severity of these problems increase.
Effective Chewing: By replacing missing teeth, food is ground correctly.
Personalized Treatment Plans: The number of missing teeth and their relationship with the surrounding tissues are evaluated and a personal treatment plan is created.
Digital Dentistry: Developing digital technology allows us to complete our treatment in a shorter time with fewer appointments.
Types of Prosthetics
There are various fixed or removable treatment options that are prepared to replace the missing tooth or teeth in the mouth. These come in various forms such as traditional fixed dentures, traditional total dentures, traditional partial dentures, precision attachment dentures, and are planned according to factors such as tooth loss and the condition of the surrounding tissues.
Traditional Dentures
Traditional palatal dentures are divided into two categories, according to the number of teeth remaining in the mouth: ‘Total Dentures’, which we prepare for completely edentulous mouths, and ‘Partial Dentures’, which we prepare for cases where there are only a few teeth left in the mouth.
Sliding Dentures
It is a treatment protocol that we apply to patients who have multiple tooth losses, as in traditional partial dentures. We generally prefer these dentures in patients with very advanced bone loss or in patients with systemic diseases for whom we cannot perform implants.
Traditional Fixed Prosthesis
We can prefer these prostheses in cases where we need to protect the tooth tissue and keep the tooth functional for a long time in cases of large decayed or broken teeth that cannot be treated with fillings, in the treatment of shape and position disorders in the teeth, in the treatment of occlusion disorders, in the treatment of missing teeth, in preparation for removable prostheses and in the placement of retaining elements for precision attachment prostheses.
Full Arch Rehabilitation
Due to reasons such as missing teeth, wear and tear on teeth over time, and displacement of teeth, our jaw relationships, closing planes, and joint positions may deteriorate. In order to treat these deteriorations, the treatment protocol in which we intervene in one or both jaws and perform procedures on all teeth is called Full Arch Rehabilitation.
Maryland Bridge
In recent years, with the development of adhesive agents and the concept of protection in dentistry, treatments with minimal tooth tissue loss have come to the fore. Therefore, today, especially in the treatment of short toothless gaps, bridges prepared without abrasion of adjacent teeth are called ‘Maryland Bridges’ or ‘Winged Bridges’.
Implant-Free Solutions
With developing technology and methods, implant treatments and prosthesis options suitable for individuals are available.
Screw-Retained Prosthesis
Prostheses prepared on implants, in which the implant-prosthesis connection is provided with screws suitable for the prepared prosthesis, are called screw-supported implant prostheses.
Bar-Retained Dentures
It is a type of prosthesis that we apply in cases of complete edentulism, prepared like traditional palatal prostheses and maintained with the help of a metal plate prepared on implants placed in the jawbone.
What are Dentures?
Dentures are artificial teeth that are used to replace missing teeth and to eliminate both aesthetic and functional losses. Tooth loss can negatively affect chewing, speaking and aesthetic appearance. Dentures aim to improve a person's quality of life by compensating for these losses. Dentures can be applied as fixed or removable.
Aesthetic and Functional Solutions: Dentures replace lost teeth and restore their natural appearance and chewing functions.
Personalized Applications: It is specially designed according to each individual's oral structure and needs.
Removable and Fixed Prosthesis Options: Depending on the number of missing teeth and the location of the teeth, different options such as full dentures, partial dentures or fixed bridge dentures are offered.
Comfort and Durability: Thanks to modern materials and techniques, prosthetics are produced to be both long-lasting and comfortable to use.
Protecting Oral Health: Tooth loss can negatively impact the health of your jawbone and other teeth. Dentures help prevent these problems.
Types of Dentures
