Importance of Gum Covering
Teeth exist in the oral environment in close relation with the jawbone and gum. In the disorders defined as gum disease, it is of serious importance in terms of reflecting the disorders of all tissues (jaw bone, tooth root) under the gum cover, not the gum alone. Gingival bleeding and small amounts of gingival recession, which seem to be very simple and neglected, may be the first harbingers of serious problems.
Factors Causing Gum Recession
- Incorrect tooth brushing
- Too hard brush use
- Untreated gum disease
- Crooked teeth
- Smoking
- Poor oral hygiene
Many more reasons such as these can be listed.
