Monolithic Zirconium

Zirconium Crowns

Dental veneers are used to cover a tooth or dental implant. Dentists cover teeth to support a weak tooth and/or dental tissue. Zirconium veneers can be used in the construction of both dental crowns and bridges.

Durability of Zirconium Coating

Zirconiums offer safe chewing resistance. A strong material is required for crown construction. Therefore, it can be used easily in every area of the mouth, both on the front and back teeth. Since zirconium coatings are biocompatible with the tissue, they do not cause allergies, and since they are fully compatible with the oral tissues, they do not cause gum problems in cases where oral hygiene is good.

Thanks to developing digital technologies, since the measurement taken can be produced with computer aid with special scrapers, it is possible to make zirconium coating on the same day. With this system, it is also possible to produce the zirconium coating to be used completely from a single piece of zirconium.

Procedure for Making Zirconium Coatings

There are two main procedures in making a dental veneer.

Your dentist will cut your tooth and then bond your temporary chrome veneer on your second visit, or if your dentist has the appropriate technology and equipment, they will produce and install it immediately with a same-day procedure.

Two Visit Procedure

Your dentist follows this path in this procedure.

  • Local anesthesia is applied, that is, if the tooth is alive, anesthesia is applied to prevent pain during the preparation (i.e. filing) of the tooth.
  • Measurements are taken.
  • Temporary teeth are applied.
  • The impression is sent to the dentist to ensure that a crown or bridge suitable for the mouth structure is made.
  • The new crown is tested in the patient's mouth, processed again in the laboratory for polishing if necessary, and placed in the mouth on the same day.

Same Day Procedure

  • The tooth is prepared (i.e. filed) under local anesthesia.
  • Digital measurements are taken.
  • Zirconium crowns are produced using special milling machines.
  • It is placed on the tooth on the same day.

After the placement of zirconium crowns in the mouth, check-ups should be done every six months. During the six-month check-ups, the adaptation of the crowns, their relationship with the opposing teeth, and gum health are checked and necessary arrangements are made in this regard. Thus, the crowns are ensured to serve in the mouth for 10-15 years.
